Here's How Joe Giudice Feels About Living Under Italy's Coronavirus Lockdown

Italy's prime minister, Giuseppe Conte, announced on Monday, March 9 that the entire country would be put on lockdown in an effort to contain the spread of coronavirus. As part of the quarantine measure, residents have been told to avoid traveling outside of areas where they live unless they can prove it is for a medical or work emergency, NBC News reports. Businesses are also required to close by dusk.

Joe Giudice gave us a glimpse at what that lockdown is looking like so far on the day it went into effect on Tuesday, March 10. The Real Housewives of New Jersey spouse, who has been living in Sala Consilina, a town in the Salerno province in southwestern Italy, since he was released from ICE custody in October, shared a video showing the streets are totally empty in his community.

"I can't believe that there's literally nobody out in the streets," Joe said in the clip. "Look at this: ghost town."

Joe went on to express that he didn't agree with the decision to put the country on lockdown, calling the restrictions "ridiculous." "People are so scared. Unbelievable. Grow a set of cojones," he said. "All right, I guess I'm gonna be the only one walking around working today."

However, Joe noted in the caption to the video that people should "#staysafeoutthere" and remember that "#awarenessiskey" and to "#washhands."

Italy is experiencing Europe's worst coronoavirus outbreak with at least 463 deaths and more than 9,000 confirmed positive cases as of March 9, according to NBC News.
