Kandi Burruss let fans in to her emotional journey to have more children last season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Now Kandi is getting closer to making her dreams of expanding her family a reality.

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of Atlanta on Peacock and the Bravo App.

Kandi's life is as busy as ever in Season 12 of RHOA, which premieres Sunday, November 3 at 8/7c. Not only will she be expanding her business empire, but her family will also be getting bigger as Kandi is expecting her third child via surrogate.

With their plates already mighty full, Kandi's husband, Todd Tucker, will be looking to add even more to it. However, Kandi isn't so sure they will be able to get everything done that they need to before their little one arrives, which leads to some conflict for the couple, as you can see in the above trailer.

Kandi shared that she and Todd had moved forward with their plans to have a baby via surrogate during the RHOA Season 11 reunion. She said they would be transferring the remaining female embryos from IVF to their surrogate.

Kandi is already mom to 17-year-old daughter Riley and 3-year-old son Ace. Todd also has a daughter, Kaela, from a previous relationship.

The RHOA mogul had hoped to use the embryos from the time she underwent IVF to have Ace. But after struggling with fertility issues and fibroids in the past, she knew it would be too complicated and risky to try and get pregnant again herself. So, she and Todd decided to consider surrogacy.

This hasn't been the easiest concept for the RHOA couple to digest. "Todd and I are both nervous about it," Kandi told The Daily Dish in November 2018. "I think it's easier for Todd to handle or deal with because as a man he's used to somebody else carrying the baby. But for me it's a little bit harder for me to deal with the thought because I'm supposed to carry my own kids in my mind. But, hey, with science, it's made other options to be able to make it happen."

But Andy Cohen, who welcomed son Benjamin via surrogate in February, has helped Kandi get more comfortable with the idea. “I had made a comment. I said something like, ‘I guess I’m gonna have a baby mama.' And he said to me, ‘Don’t you ever say that because you are the mother," Kandi recalled of their conversation during an emotional appearance on Busy Tonight in February. "'And to say she’s your baby’s mom is taking away from you.’ It made me feel better.”
