Emily Simpson's Husband Shane Simpson's Latest Bar Exam Results Are In

Emily Simpson's husband, Shane Simpson, has received the results of the most recent bar exam he took in July. However, The Real Housewives of Orange County couple does not yet know whether he passed or not.

Emily shared the update on her husband's legal career during the RHOC: The Juice Is Worth the Squeeze panel at BravoCon on Sunday, November 17 at the Manhattan Center's Grand Ballroom. “He should have gotten them but he won’t look,” she said, as reported by PEOPLE. “I can’t figure out if he’s waiting for me to come home. He had a rough time the last time [he took the test], so I don’t know if he’s avoiding looking or he knows he messed up.”

Later on during the panel, a fan told Emily that "the bar exam results are public" and asked if she wanted to know whether Shane passed or not. "I think no," she said. "I don't think he passed."

PEOPLE reports that Shane did not pass his most recent bar exam. The California Bar Exam is one of the most difficult to pass in the country with only 26 percent of repeat applicants passing the July 2019 General Bar Exam, according to statistics reported by the State Bar of California.

Shane previously took the bar exam in February 2019, which is the test we saw him prepare for this season of RHOC.

"I mean, it was devastating to not pass. I took the bar exam in 2005, and then I passed the first time, so I don't even know what that must have felt like for him. I've said before, I feel badly, but I give him a lot of credit for doing what he did, and he did it with millions of people watching," Emily said of Shane not passing the February 2019 bar exam during an interview with The Daily Dish in October of this year. "I mean, when I took the bar exam in '05, it was like, just my family knew I was taking it. And for him to go through that and to take it and for millions of people to judge and have opinions about it, I mean, I think that was a pretty brave thing to do."

Emily told The Daily Dish earlier this season that Shane hadn't really shared how well he thought this latest bar exam went. Shane previously worked as a practicing lawyer in Utah before moving to California. "He's working full-time right now for a law firm, and he really enjoys it, but he wants to be able to be licensed so he can practice," Emily said. "So he'll probably keep taking it 'til he does."

If Shane does decide to take the bar exam again, Emily said that she hopes that she and her husband can work to prevent his preparation from putting a strain on their marriage, as we've seen this season of RHOC. "I just feel like if he takes it again, there just has to be a different system in place. It can't be he's just gone all day studying and all the brunt of taking care of the kids is on me," she explained. "He just has to figure out he still has to be around, and then he has to study a couple hours after work or something. I don't know, like a different system."
